CROSS COUNTRY !! CONGRATULATIONS !!

Marisia came 2nd and Chloe came 3rd in the 6yr old girls race.

Week 10 - Last week of Term 3!!!

5 School days until the holidays. And boy are we all ready for it. The children are tired and ready for a break which translates to - the tears and tales have well and truly started.

READERS! READERS! READERS! - Calling all readers. Please return all readers on Monday - I will be clearing out the children's book bags on Monday. The junior teachers are doing a stock take during the holidays in order to purchase new books and increase stocks of popular books. To do this effectively we need all books returned.  Our reading in class this week will be poems. Reading testing will also be done this week.

CALENDAR ART & ORDERS - Check out the post below for your child's calendar art. First names only are visible underneath the art. Click on the image to make it bigger. Money & Orders are due at the office on Monday. If your child has misplaced their order form (they were ALL given one last week), please go to the office for another one.

LIBRARY - The library is closed this week for stocktake. If your child wants to change their book before the holidays, they are welcome to do so during Tuesday or Thursday lunchtime.

CROSS COUNTRY - Wednesday 1:30pm - Fingers crossed the weather plays nicely this week and we can participate in our cross country. Cross country is held at school on the field. All parents/friends/family are welcome to come along and support our junior children. Children need to bring their PE gear to wear and a jumper to wear while they are waiting to compete. 

PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENTS - We will be completing our Term 3 assessments this week to go into our portfolios. I am aiming to get the majority of these done on Monday & Tuesday.

ASSEMBLY - It's our turn this week. I hope the children who have reading parts have been practising lots at home. We will be having some practice with the microphones in the hall this week too.  Assembly is on Friday at 2:05pm in the school hall. All friends/family/parents are welcome to come along and support us.

LAST DAY OF TERM 3

Friday 25th September. 

School closes at 3pm.

TERM 4

Starts - Monday 12th October. Children need to be in their summer uniforms.

ASSEMBLY - WILL NOW BE IN WEEK 10

There has been a change of plan and our assembly will now be next week on Friday at 2:10pm. Children have been given their words to learn today and the need to practice them 5x at night. Sorry for any inconvenience the change of plan may cause.

Week 9 - Term 3

Dunk the Principal - Well the weather played nicely and Mr Macmillan was a good sport. Here are some photos of the dunking. Check out the post below (Dunk Him!!) for the video footage.

 

 

Assembly - It's Our Turn This Week!! Assembly is on Friday at 2:10 in the school hall and Room 12 is leading it. All friends and family are welcome to come along. There are many different jobs for assembly - including speaking and non-speaking parts. If your child has a speaking part to learn, they will bring home the words to practice on Tuesday. 

Library - Bring your book bag from last week so you can get a new one.

Calendar Art - We are nearing completion of our calendar art. Once completed I will put a copy of each piece of art on the blog. You are also welcome to view the hard copy in class. Order forms should come home this week.

Week 8 - Term 3

Only 3 weeks until the holidays!!!

Calendar Art - we are beginning our calendar art this week on the official paper. We have very wisely had a practice run and may need another. Order forms will come home either this week or next and orders need to be placed by the end of the term. When we have completed our calendar artwork, I will put a copy up onto the blog for you to view. You can also view the hard copy when you drop/pick up your child from class.

Royal NZ Ballet visit - we are lucky enough to have some people from the Royal NZ Ballet visit us on Thursday. There is a whole school assembly from 9:30-10:30 and you are welcome to attend. For the remainder of the day they will be doing two workshops with some very lucky children from years 4-6.

Mufti Mania - Friday - Gold Coin Donation. The Young Vinnies have organised a mufti day for this Friday. If you wish to participate, please bring a gold coin donation. 

Dunk a Teacher - Mr Macmillan is back this week (he was away all last week). Hopefully I'll have some photos (or video footage) to post at the end of the week - if not sooner!

Library - Wednesday. Bring your old book back so you can get a new one.
